The Board of Governors of Redeemer University in Ancaster, Ont., announced the second term appointment of currently serving president David Zietsma on Sept. 25.
“Serving as provost and vice president, academic, and interim president before his official appointment as fifth president in March 2022, Zietsma has guided the institution through a remarkable period of growth, strategic alignment, and renewed spiritual focus,” the announcement said.
The board said its decision to reappoint came after a comprehensive “review process carried out over the past year, affirming Zietsma’s visionary leadership and steadfast commitment to Redeemer’s mission.”
Founded in 1982 as a denominationally affiliated school of the Christian Reformed Church, the university’s mission is “Preparing students to reflect the love of Jesus Christ in every career and calling.”
The presidential appointment is a five-year term. Zietsma’s second term begins May 1, 2027.
