Korean delegates and staff to Synod 2026 opened worship Tuesday afternoon with a choir led by Catheryn Jo, communications specialist and Korean connector with Thrive.
Jo played guitar and led in the singing of “Blessed Assurance” in Korean and English. Yoojin Song played piano, Chris Kim played bass; Yohan Cho, electric guitar; and Chris Choe, another Korean connector with Thrive, played cajon.
After a reading of Isaiah 43:19, about God making pathways in the wilderness, Jo and the choir led singing of “Waymaker.”
Jo ended worship with a prayer, acknowledging God is doing a new thing in the CRC. She echoed words spoken earlier by a delegate, to move hearts away from cynicism. “Please change our spiritual devotion to you and you only, in Jesus name.”
